The first day of school

To know wisdom and instruction,
to understand words of insight,
to receive instruction in wise dealing,
in righteousness, justice, and equity;
to give prudence to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the youth--
Let the wise hear and increase in learning,
and the one who understands obtain guidance...

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction.

~Prov. 1:2-7

  1. Hmm...food for my soul. I've started homeschooling my oldest this week. Something I know God has called me to. Something that, if I allow it, can overwhelm me. It's always so good to come back to the Word...and use it as our plumbline. Thank you for helping me to do that today. To put things into RIGHT perspective. ...to remind me that I am training up my girls to fear the Lord above all else.

  3. This is how I KNOW that our children MUST be taught at home. That is the only way to make SURE that Scripture is the only standard of life and truth.

    Having said that, I should tell you that our WonderBoy (age 7, with autism) peered around the corner into our kitchen on Monday (our first day of school) and announced "I quit school today!"

    Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
