Word worth pondering

On being grateful even for the crumbs...

How can I sit at this table each morning and see the crumbs waiting to be cleaned, and not the five other seats that will, later that day, be filled by people I love? People (my husband, my children) I prayed for long before we ever met. Each of them an answer to a prayer. How can I walk into this kitchen and grumble? How is it I see only the peeling wallpaper and dirty cabinets and not notice that everywhere, stashed in every nook and corner are fragments of the love my life is full of...

  1. Good Morning, my Friend....

Thank you for the referral to Joy in Chaos this morning - I have read and cried and rejoiced as I think about how thankful we should be for those around us...we never know when they will not be with us, as with the tragic death of a young man who will be buried today...I looked at my disheveled boy this morning and Praised God that I could touch him and hug him and in the process realize that the things that we view as problems in this world are not problems...Thank you that I need to pay $350.00 for an activity at school ...that means that I have a boy who can go and do....thank you that I need to buy a planner for my scattered child, that means that he can walk to class and listen and take notes and forget to do his homework...Thank you God that I can't kick through his room - that means that he is in his room......sorry for the novel...I have been touched today.... I love you MORE...

  2. Wow, how I needed that today. I have spent all morning cleaning, and picking up and putting away only to become frustrated in knowing I will do it again later. How foolish of me to look past my little miracles and complain of their messes. How foolish I have been to critisize my husband for things undone around our home, forgetting that without him, I wouldn't be able to stay in our home and raise our children, while he works seven days a week to provide. Forgive me, Lord for my foolishness and please interupt and remind me to see what truly matters.
